Step-by-step: make a CNIC photo online

1. Open the Passport Photo Maker tool and drop your photo onto the upload area, or click to choose a file.
2. Choose 35x45mm size (Pakistan CNIC).
3. Preview the cropped photo and check that your face is centred, with head and shoulders visible and a plain white background.

Take your photo in bright, even daylight in front of a plain white wall. Keep your face straight, eyes open, mouth closed, and the camera at eye level about 1 metre away. Do not use filters or beauty mode. This tool crops and sizes your photo, but it does not fix a blurry photo or remove a busy background.

CNIC vs passport photo — what is different?

The size is commonly the same (35x45mm), but the use is different. A passport photo is for a passport application, a CNIC photo is for your national ID card. Use a fresh, clear photo for each application, and do not reuse a very old photo if the form asks for a recent one.

If the CNIC form asks for a small file size, make the 35x45mm photo first, then compress it with Compress Image to 100KB or Compress Image to 50KB. Check the preview before you upload.
