Why use Compress Image to 100KB
- A result under 100 KB with no guessing.
- More detail kept than at 50 KB, so photos and documents stay clearer.
- No account, no watermark, no upload.
- Works in modern browsers on phone and computer.
What you can expect at 100 KB
At 100 KB most everyday photos, such as profile pictures and ID photos, still look clear on screen. Large, detailed photos, for example a 12-megapixel picture from a phone, need strong compression to get that small, and the tool may also reduce the picture's pixel size.
The result is always a JPG. For 100 KB we count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes, so the file is under the limit whether a website counts in 1,000 or 1,024 bytes.
Need a different limit?
If the upload page asks for a smaller file, use Compress Image to 50KB. If you can allow a bit more, Compress Image to 200KB keeps more quality. For full control over the quality yourself, use the Image Compressor.
Tips for best results
- If your file is already under 100 KB, you do not need to compress it.
- Resize very large photos first with the Image Resizer for the sharpest result.
- Check the website's rules for the file type. This tool saves JPG files.
- Keep your original image as a backup.
Frequently asked questions
Will my image lose quality?
Some, because the file has to become smaller. The tool keeps the highest quality that fits under 100 KB, and you can check the preview before downloading.
Can I compress a PNG to 100 KB?
Yes. PNG images are converted to JPG so the size can be controlled. Transparent areas turn white.
Is 100 KB the same as 0.1 MB?
Roughly. 1 MB is about 1,000 KB, so 100 KB is about 0.1 MB.
Does it change the width and height?
Only if needed. The tool lowers the quality first and makes the picture a little smaller only when quality alone cannot reach 100 KB.
Is this tool free?
Yes. It is free to use and needs no account or registration.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Processing happens inside your browser, so your image never leaves your device.
What image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP are supported, up to 25 MB. Other formats work if your browser can open them.
Can I use this tool on mobile?
Yes. It works in modern mobile browsers, though very large files may be slow on older phones.
